Management Systems: SMS/CMS for Aerodromes

This course introduces participants to the requirements for Management Systems within the aviation industry, with a specific focus on the aerodrome domain. It covers the purpose, scope, and key components of such systems.
Participants will explore various applications and scenarios where these components are applied - either independently or in combination with others.
The course includes practical exercises, such as hazard identification, determination of mitigating measures, and more.
Course Content
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key management systems applicable to an aerodrome operator.
- Describe:
- the purpose of each system,
- the main components of the systems,
- the scope, coverage and coordination requirements with respect to contracted partners and other organisations.
- Apply key processes, such as:
- hazard identification,
- simple risk assessment,
- the audit process,
- safety performance indicators,
- Utilise:
- the relevant safety FORA,
- the information gained from the safety reporting system.
- EU MSAT to assess the maturity of a management system

- Other staff engaged in the Management, Operation or Maintenance of an aerodrome, or who are providing services to aircraft at or on an aerodrome
Pre-requisites
Essential:
A basic knowledge of terms and concepts used in the aviation world would be beneficial.
Participants are kindly requested to bring a laptop to access the materials, which will only be provided in electronic format.
