FSTD Extended Evaluation for Operators

Aircrew Regulation allows for FSTD Operators to apply for an Extended Evaluation Programme; this means that the Competent Authority may extend the evaluation period up to 36 months, instead of 12 months. To achieve such extension the operator must have a robust CMS and implement a process to self evaluate their own devices.

This course explains such a process which mirrors the process followed by Compentent Authorities when performing recurrent evaluations, although it does have some differences.

Please note this is not a FSTD evaluator course.

The training course will prepare an FSTD Operator to apply for the EASA Extended Evalution Program and will make the participants competent in performing self-evaluations on its own device. 

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

• Understand and Apply Extended Evaluation Methods: Learners will gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and methodologies used in extended evaluations for flight simulation training devices (FSTDs) and will be able to apply these methods to assess and enhance the performance of FSTDs effectively.
• Analyze Evaluation Results: Learners will develop the skills to critically analyze evaluation results, identify discrepancies or areas for improvement, and use this analysis to make informed recommendations for optimizing the training effectiveness of FSTDs.
• Implement Best Practices in Evaluation Processes: Learners will be equipped with knowledge of industry best practices for conducting extended evaluations, including planning, execution, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and improving overall training quality.
